Sunflower Grows

The little sunflower seed that Todd planted at Earth Day a week ago is sprouting. What's especially neat is how the plant pushes the shell out, so you can still see it attached as it newly grows.

Bouncy Castle

Todd has a ton of fun leaping around in a bouncy castle at Girsh Park. I like how the sun's rays made it in the shot, as well!

Ladybug

This red and shiny little critter landed on my hand while I was at the pool this afternoon. So cute, especially the way its wings glisten in the bright sunlight.

Sharing a Shake

Todd and Allan share a frosty chocolate shake at Chili's, where we had lunch after Easter services. Yummy dessert! :-9

Vegetarian Dinner

Fixings for tonight's meal: cooked lentils, garbanzo beans and veggie soup (onions, carrots, tomatoes, zucchini). Served with pumpernickel bread and Laughing Cow cheese spread. Yum! :-9

At the helm of a hybrid electric bus at the Citrix Online Earth Day Fair. Scary how he's almost the right size to fit behind the wheel of that thing!

Baby Facebook

Another funny onesie... featuring... Babybook! There was a pink girl's version too, but I think the blue one stayed truer to Facebook's actual colors.

Laundry and TV

Great way to do the chores-- sit on the couch, watch TV on the laptop, and fold laundry on the coffee table!

Giant Guitar

Todd wields the giant inflatable guitar he got as one of his prizes at the Zodo's arcade. The thing is taller than him! And it's way bigger than even the inflatable guitars available as props at karaoke!

Rio Happy Meal

All the components of Todd's Happy Meal had characters from the movie we actually just saw last night: the box, the apple dippers, the bottle of chocolate milk, and of course, the toy!

Earth Day

Todd at the Citrix Online booth during the Earth Day festivities in downtown Santa Barbara. What a perfect day to celebrate all things eco-friendly, including the handwritten pledge he has hoisted above his head here. Can you read it? :-)

Work Bowling at Zodo's

Taxes Done

Both Federal and State taxes finally filed today! Free H&R Block code from a giveaway by Young & Thrifty let me file the federal for free, but the state had to be done the old-fashioned, paper, snail mail way.

Todd Draws

Picked up a drawing instruction book/kit at Borders the other day-- Todd digs into it and starts drawing a picture of a lion, following the book's instructions. Here he is, hard at work, on his masterpiece:

Bon Jovi karaoke

Rocking out the Neighborhood Bar with "It's My Life" and Eric backing me up with inflatable guitar. Yeah!

Flooring Picked Out

We found some nice laminate at Andros Flooring. Here is a sample board (Montreal Alder), next to some of our previous contenders (top to bottom): Lumber Liquidators' Szechuan Ming Bamboo and Nantucket Beech, and Pergo's Cherry Planked.

Cider Cinnamon Sticks

Remnants of my hot apple cider drink from the Goleta Coffee Co. As I was finishing the drink, I felt something rattle around in the cup, and was pleasantly surprised to open the lid and find 2 cinnamon sticks inside!

Mini Bread and Cheese

Tiny slices of pumpernickel bread + Laughing Cow cheese spread (Garlic Herb flavor) = yummy supplemental addition to tonight's dinner :-9

Todd's Tattoo

Todd loves temporary tattoos. This is one that came from-- guess where? The library, of course! And he's definitely already caught the reading bug :-P

Cliff Room Drink

Karaoke night at the Cliff Room. My first visit there. This is my vodka cranberry after I put it in a larger glass and added more juice to weaken it. Yowza, it was STRONG.

Tri-tip Sandwich

$10 sammich with salsa, chips and soda to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation at work today. Yummy, fast lunch option and a good cause!

Spied this hilarious onesie at one of those mega baby stores full of overpriced, mostly-unnecessary baby paraphernalia. At least the novelty shirts are good for some laughs!

Mothra

Giant moth decides to alight near the front door of my parents' home. I wish I could've reached up high enough to put my hand next to it for size perspective. So fuzzy-looking, and such beautiful colors and pattern!

Slug Crossing

Look! A shell-less snail! This slim, adorable, little critter, whom we initially mistook for a worm, was spied crossing the sidewalk in the morning. The nice green grass on the other side, covered in dew drops, must've looked very appealing!

Farewell, Hamid

Friend and co-worker Hamid's last day at work was today. We sent him off with some cake, beer and fond wishes for his future endeavors. Best of luck to you, Hamid!
