I don't know exactly how Project 365 came about. It was sometime in 2007 that it seemed to be all the rage. Friends of friends were doing it in various forms, and I thought it might be a cool thing to participate in. Since blogs were the most popular venue for this at the time, I elected to start a new blog, separate from my main one, dedicated solely to Project 365 photos.
Well, as you can tell by my archives, I lost steam after nearly 60 posts. It was just too cumbersome to take a photo, hook up the camera to a computer, transfer the files, and then upload them. Heck, it was too cumbersome trying to lug around a camera everywhere! I started using the camera phone of my Motorola RAZR, but the quality simply wasn't all that good.
Fast forward to 2010, where my friend Tabitha decided to actively pursue it. I watched her go at it for a few months, and, inspired by her efforts, decided to revive the project and give it another go. Since I already this blog up, and since I already had some interesting pictures on it, I decided to continue using it.
I posted my first picture on October 25, 2010, and my 365th picture on October 24, 2011. I'm still amazed that I lasted the whole year, and it was certainly not without its ups and downs in terms of motivation and creativity! I elaborated a bit more on the experience in this post.
They say that a picture is worth 1000 words, and there's some truth to that. I think Project 365 has provided a unique way of chronicling my life for a whole year. So I've decided to try to keep this blog somewhat active, especially since I've become accustomed to being on the lookout for photo opportunities. I hope to continue sharing photos regularly, and I hope it will be an enjoyable experience, now that I'm not under pressure to post something every single day anymore! :-)
Lights! Camera! Smile!
