Monday, 30 Apr -- Finding Nemo

This pic is similar in theme to the one I took of plush Gromit holding his DVD. Here's another family favorite-- "Finding Nemo". And surrounding the DVD? A turtle (like the ones who accompanied the fish in the EAC), a shark ("fish are friends, not food!") and of course, Nemo (or is it Marlin?) himself!

Sunday, 29 Apr -- Sleeping on the floor

This is Toddy last night. He ended up rolling off the bed and onto the blanket that happened to be folded up on the floor next to his side of the bed. Good thing the bed's low to the ground, the floor is carpeted, and the blanket was there to cushion it all! The kid slept right through it all, too!

Saturday, 28 Apr -- Gas pump TV

You get 2 images today, but I count them as one because they are 2 pics of the same thing-- TV screens on every pump at Shell stations. As soon as you begin pumping gas, they flicker to life and provide you with some entertainment-- mostly in the form of advertisements for various products and upcoming TV shows on ABC.

Friday, 27 Apr -- Gangsta Todd

Todd throwing up a gang symbol? Sure looks like it, doesn't it? No, we'd merely taught him how to hold up 3 fingers to show how old he'll be on his next birthday-- coming up soon. Oh, and that brown T-shirt he's wearing? That's Mommy's "U.S. Army" t-shirt :-D

Wednesday, 25 Apr -- Cheese sauce

How NOT to make cheese sauce: trying to melt cheese and milk in a saucepan. This is the clumpy, curdled end result of Allan's failed attempt. Well, at least we learned what NOT to do, for future reference! :-D

Tuesday, 24 Apr -- 101 Freeway

The 101 Freeway that runs North-South along the California coast, is dotted with these signs every so often. I see this particular one a lot, as it's on the southbound route between Santa Barbara and Ventura. Although I was never assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, I do like the military association of these signs :-)

Monday, 23 Apr -- Lisa's birthday present

I cheated a bit today, and had to ask Lisa to snap a photo of this for me. It's a picture of my birthday gift to her this year-- a copy of Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird". It arrived in her mailbox today, and it also happens to be my all-time favorite book. The movie adaptation isn't too bad, either!

Sunday, 22 Apr -- Lazy day

Yes, I admit it. We are lazy parents :-P Sunday was a quiet, relaxing day. It was raining outside so it was the perfect day to be cooped up, snug and warm, indoors. So we just spent the day lounging around, watching movies, most notably "Finding Nemo".

Saturday, 21 Apr -- Cocktail party

Cocktail party on Saturday, last one of its kind at the Geekhouse! Here's a shot of me and my some of the girls, 4 of us work at the same company, in fact! :-) Guess which 4 ;-)

Friday, 20 Apr -- Dreary weather

It's a dreary day today. It's cloudy, cold and rainy. And this is supposed to be April in Southern California, for cryin' out loud! Here's a view of the parking lot behind the building where I work. Wet lot, cloudy gray skies. Oh, and that's my car under the pink arrow :-)

Thursday, 19 Apr -- Mr. Toad

I love frogs. Toads are close enough. Here is a shot of me with Mr. Toad while waiting in line for "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride". Who is Mr. Toad, you ask? Why, just read "Wind in the Willows", my good friend :-)

Wednesday, 18 Apr -- Disneyland

After today's trip to Disneyland, there was no shortage of photos to choose from. Here is a shot of the outside of "Small World", one of my favorite rides in the park. Yes, the world truly is that small :-)

Tuesday, 17 Apr -- Camera phone

Taking pictures everyday, or at random here and there, has become much easier ever since I got a phone with a camera built in :-) I don't always carry my digital camera everywhere, but I do carry my phone everywhere. So here she is-- my Motorola RAZR with the lovely dragon tattoo, source of many odd and quirky photos taken throughout the months I've had it :-D

Monday, 16 Apr -- Candy

Here's an array of a few of my favorite candies. Haribo Gummi Bears, Red Vines licorice (better when stale), Smarties and Whoppers (chocolate malt candy).

Sunday, 15 Apr -- Taxes

This is my desk after a whirlwind of filing state and federal taxes. Note the voided check underneath my wallet-- I'd made a mistake on the state return and had to cut another check-- but that's okay, because it was for nearly $200 less than the amount I'd written on the first check :-D

Still, 2006 wasn't without an eye-popping bill :-(

Saturday, 14 Apr -- Gromit

My idea for this photo came to me while sitting at the computer. I spied one of the Wallace and Gromit DVDs on the shelf next to me and decided-- hey, we have a stuffed Gromit, and since my first picture was of a stuffed dog, why not continue the trend? Here's Gromit showcasing his "Tail-Waggin' DVD", an accompaniment to the Were-Rabbit DVD.

Friday, 13 Apr -- Rocky Pup

First up-- the picture everyone in the online world associates with me, as it's been my mainstay avatar for ages. A picture of my very own favorite stuffed dog-- Rocky the Rottweiler. He's an infamous little guy and has been everywhere with me-- a worldly pup :-)

Here I am

I spied this on Px's blog after following the link to his profile from Lisa's blog, and was intrigued. I ran a Google search on "project 365" and found a few variations. I liked the idea of posting a photo per day, every day, for 365 days. Px has chosen to post self-portraits everday. And me, with my penchant for snapping random pics wherever I go, esp now that I have a camera phone? I figured I'd intersperse self-portraits with pictures of other things I see throughout the day, that capture my fancy.

I will admit upfront that some days I might cheat and not take a photo, but I have plenty of interesting pics in my treasure trove of photo archives, that I can easily select one for the day's post. Some days, because of lack of consistently daily internet access, I'll have to update in droves-- but I'll be sure to backdate each time.

So... without further ado... here goes! :-)
